memory improvment

Question
I am 36 and have struggled with ADD. It has affected me in the realm of learning/memory. I felt behind in school though I did finish college, but I still feel behind in my life. I have done various meditations, but what would you suggest for a meditation technique that would improve focus and memory.

thank you

Answer
Hi Kevin,

Thanks for your question.

Memory is very much related to the human brain and its capacity. Meditation can energize the brain cells to a great extent. It can help you to recollect the memory, but meditation should become part of life. More you are able to visualize the brain cells gets energized, so more than meditation visualization will help you.

You can do the following visualization techniques :

Early Morning (Preferably before 7 am) :

As soon as you are done with your bowl movements, without having any caffeine based drinks like coffee directly go to meditation. Close your eyes, sit straight, just witness the breath, your body and the surroundings. Take three deep breaths. Visualize two important things which you will be doing for the day.Think as positive as possible of those important things and feel as if you are done with those successful. Be it a small thing like depositing a cheque to bank, visualize the amount your are writing, how you are signing, color of pen used, the date etc. Try to visualize more details.

Lat night (Before bed time) :

Meditate for 5 minutes as explained above, try to recollect the same things which you had visualized in the morning, how it actually turned up or any new important things which you didn't visualize in the morning. Keep a daily journal, write down the important things accomplished. Try to recollect the details like time, color of dress of the persons you met, what food you had etc etc. Try to write down more details.

Every weekend just try to recollect a particular day, how was it and see what you remember is in your journal.

Set aside time for this, it is for you and believe that this routine will bring in you a great difference.

Additionally you can use Bacopa/Brahmi capsules which is a very natural herbal medicine. You can search for these medicines and try out. I am not a doctor so you can read about Bacopa/Brahmi in Internet , look at it benefits consult with your family doctor and then start using it.

Let your life be full of success and happiness. Feel free to revert back if you have any doubts.

NSR

Question
David,

After about 2 months of NSR I have noticed that at times during meditation, the mantra seems to almost repeat itself. It's like someone else is saying it and I simply listen to the sound. Is this a normal occurance. I know each persons experience is different but I would appreciate your input.

TM Siddhis

Question
Sir,

i began tm in 1973 and completed my siddhis in 1983. During the flying block of the course i had a very powerful experience that has me a little perplexed.

i was sitting in group program and being very settled i notice a sparkling pin hole at the top of my skull, as i placed  my attention on that, it began to expand and fill my head from top down with the most white liquid electrically-charged substance. as my fascination went from curiosity to fear immediately the event ended. after the group program the instructor asked for any experiences of which i mentioned mine... his response was that it was a valid experience but did not help w/ any sort of explanation. could you please expand on this for me... thank you

sincerely rpc

Answer
Richard, Thank you for your question.

As this is a public source of information, I will give the same answer: this is one of many possible experiences that can happen as a result of the TM-Sidhi Program. If you wish an in-depth personalized response, you need to send your question using the Contact Us form at www.nsrusa.org.

The TM-Sidhi Program is an advanced program based on Transcendental Meditation, an effortless, natural, effective mental technique, practiced twice a day for 20 minutes each time while sitting with the eyes closed in a comfortable chair. Transcendental Meditation (TM) brings the mind to pure consciousness, pure alertness, while the body enjoys a much deeper rest than occurs during sleep at night. This rest is deep enough to allow the nervous system to dissolve daily stresses accumulated over the years, freeing the nervous system from these blocks to full experience and the ability to perform and accomplish goals.

Along the way, the release of stress can have side-effects such as the rather remarkable experience described here by Richard C. However, these side effects are not important. What is important is the improved relationships and freedom from problems that we enjoy in our daily life based on the reduction and eventual elimination of stress.

For more information about Transcendental Meditation, visit www.tm.org. For information about a lower-cost, non-mystical alternative to TM, visit www.nsrusa.org.

How to levitate

Question
Can you help me on how to levitate any objects or my own body using my own energy (or chakra). Is there any exercises to level up my chakra? Can you share to me that exercises, if any?

Answer
Dear Roy

You have to meditate on being in the 34th dimension where gravity does not exist. Imagine that there is a pressure under the object or yourself that is greater than the pressure of gravity. As far as chakras are concerned, all you have to do is state your desire that your chakras  be balanced while you meditate and they will automatically readjust. Good luck on the meditation on levitation. That takes years of practice and huge amounts of concentration. Most people give up after a few months.
