Posture, Kyanite and Chakra's

Question
Hi Reed, thanks for reading, I look forward to browsing your website and reading your e-books. My question(s) is(are:) this:

I'm a beginner meditator and sit in the burmese posture, (it feels more stable than in a chair) however after 10 minutes or so I get strong pins and needles in my feet. As far as I know this kind of sensation is common and I should simply return to the breath. My only concern is that I have Raynaud's phenomenon: http://static.howstuffworks.com/gif/adam/images/en/raynauds-phenomenon-picture.j... which happens in response to cold and stress, however when I sit my feet go a bit grey and whitish on the soles, nevertheless after walking a bit I feel fine afterwards and during group meditation I didn't find anyone else to be in any less pain than I was.

The only thing is the concern brings an element of uncertainty to my meditation practice, I'm not sure if I should continue the posture or simply carry on as normal. What's your advice?

Just a quick question to add, what do you know of the crystal kyanite? It is the only crsytal I have found that does anything for me (all the others never worked despite what books and sites said and I decided it was all mumbo jumbo and a waste of money)--However I always feel better after holding that little blue stone kyanite.

Okay this is defintely the last question. To my knowledge my root chakra has been very severley defiecent and all my chakra's have been defiencent (spinning too slowly), especially the lower three, I've been advised to focus on healing my root, solar plexus and heart chakra and have been doing yoga, meditation, Tai Chi and healthy eating, I haven't found a consistent formular yet but do find these things do help me. Have you any advice for slow spinning chakra's especially in the heart, solar plexus and root area's. Thank you.

Answer
Hi Selfie,

You do not need to be in any particular posture or be sitting in a chair to meditate. My favorite place to meditate was in my overstuffed leather recliner that eliminated any discomfort in sitting on the floor or upright in a chair. You can even meditate and dying on your bed if that is what you choose. My suggestion is that when you meditate why not a try to find the cause of your condition and then work on healing it.

If other crystals do nothing for you, then you do not need them at this time. If kyanite is one that works for you at this time, then use it. Every crystal has its unique properties and will have different effects on different people. Just because a crystal may be giving you a bad feeling, that is not necessarily wrong as it is helping you work with a feeling that you dislike and avoid.

You cannot heal your chakras without knowing what is wrong with them. Doing yoga, meditation, Tai Chi, eating healthy, Reiki, or whatever, is not addressing the cause as to why your chakras are not in balance. Everyone’s chakras are imbalanced, so you are not alone. The basic issue that causes problems with the chakras are our denials of our emotions and feelings.

Reed
