meditation length/ a boy in nepal...

Question
hello,

i ve read a brief article about a 15 year old boy in nepal who has been meditating nonstop for 7 months without food or drink.

do you know anything about this?

regards, anton

Answer
anton, Thank you for your question.

No, I had not heard about this. The source is apparently an 16-paragraph Associated Press story written by staff writer Binaj Gurubacharya. This may be the article you read.

As yet there seems to be no independent corroboration, and the story is somewhat suspicious because the only significant information about the boy apparently came from friends of his. Also, he is hidden from view every night, so it is highly unlikely that he has been without food and water for six months. These circumstances definitely sound either like a hoax by the boys or an exaggeration by the reporters.

People love to believe amazing things, whether they are true or not. It is highly regrettable that they are not so quick to believe that there is a field of unbounded love, joy, bliss, creativity, energy, and intelligence deep inside, and that this field can be contacted effortlessly through any effective meditation technique, such as TM or NSR.

Feel free to submit followup questions, if any.
