I started meditating two weeks ago.. Every since I have been having really light sleeps at night and arent getting the same rest I used to get.. WHy is this?

You don't say what type of meditation you have been practicing, so I may be limited in how I can respond.
In general, all aspects of the brain and the mind are interconnected. Any mental activity can affect the quality of sleep at night.
I suspect that you already knew this, and are really asking some other question. Unfortunately, I cannot yet read minds
