memory improvment

Question
I am 36 and have struggled with ADD. It has affected me in the realm of learning/memory. I felt behind in school though I did finish college, but I still feel behind in my life. I have done various meditations, but what would you suggest for a meditation technique that would improve focus and memory.

thank you

Answer
Hi Kevin,

Thanks for your question.

Memory is very much related to the human brain and its capacity. Meditation can energize the brain cells to a great extent. It can help you to recollect the memory, but meditation should become part of life. More you are able to visualize the brain cells gets energized, so more than meditation visualization will help you.

You can do the following visualization techniques :

Early Morning (Preferably before 7 am) :

As soon as you are done with your bowl movements, without having any caffeine based drinks like coffee directly go to meditation. Close your eyes, sit straight, just witness the breath, your body and the surroundings. Take three deep breaths. Visualize two important things which you will be doing for the day.Think as positive as possible of those important things and feel as if you are done with those successful. Be it a small thing like depositing a cheque to bank, visualize the amount your are writing, how you are signing, color of pen used, the date etc. Try to visualize more details.

Lat night (Before bed time) :

Meditate for 5 minutes as explained above, try to recollect the same things which you had visualized in the morning, how it actually turned up or any new important things which you didn't visualize in the morning. Keep a daily journal, write down the important things accomplished. Try to recollect the details like time, color of dress of the persons you met, what food you had etc etc. Try to write down more details.

Every weekend just try to recollect a particular day, how was it and see what you remember is in your journal.

Set aside time for this, it is for you and believe that this routine will bring in you a great difference.

Additionally you can use Bacopa/Brahmi capsules which is a very natural herbal medicine. You can search for these medicines and try out. I am not a doctor so you can read about Bacopa/Brahmi in Internet , look at it benefits consult with your family doctor and then start using it.

Let your life be full of success and happiness. Feel free to revert back if you have any doubts.
